Jim Motavalli is a senior editor at E Magazine, a national environmental bi-monthly, as well as author of two books - Breaking Gridlock: Moving Toward Transportation that Works (2002), and Forward Drive: The Race to Build "Clean" Cars for the Future (2000), and editor of Feeling the Heat: Dispatches from the Frontlines of Climate Change (2004).
He has written for The New York Times, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Nation, The Boston Globe, Salon, Grist, The Guardian, Tomorrow Magazine, Sierra, and many other newspapers, magazines, and web sites. His writing on population won a 1999 Global Media Award from the Population Institute.
