Her corporate clients include 3M, General Electric, HSBC, Johnson & Johnson, Epson, Nike and Samsung, among others.
She is the author of several books on green marketing, including the recently released, The New Rules of Green Marketing. An earlier book, Green Marketing: Opportunity for Innovation, is now in its second edition and has been translated into five languages.

It was created under an EPA Innovation Grant with the goal of jumpstarting eco-design education. Endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America, Design:Green gave more than 4000 practitioners and students a grounding in the principles of eco-design and green marketing through workshops held across the country. Today, the initiative continues as an online course created by Ottman for the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
A former advertising executive for consumer packaged goods businesses at major New York advertising agencies, Ottman graduated from Smith College and attended the NYU Graduate School of Business.
She speaks on sustainable business, strategic green marketing, sustainability by design, and strategies for product innovation.
